Seeing Stars!!

So yesterday I had to take both of the kids in for their physicals.. which of course required shots! Nathan had to get his Kindergarten shots (5 total.. but they just 2 days ago approved 2 of the shots to be given as a combo). So 4 pinches... as Nathan would say. I have to say, I was very proud of him, he was scared to death... did not want to take part in it... but when the nurse suggested that he sing his ABC's.. and then promised him that by the time he got to Z she would be done... he was willing to participate! He started off singing at his pace (which was in fast forward) so the nurse had to help him slow it down, we all started singing our ABC's together..

He didn't even flinch while getting the shots.. kept on singing! But when it was all over, and he sat up... he turned as white as a ghost! All the color ran from his face and his lips were a smoky shade of grey.. instantly his body felt cold and I knew what was happening, he was about to see stars!! (Being that his mother... yes, me!... is a PRO at fainting, for the oddest of reasons..I saw it coming)

So I laid him down quickly (the nurses were already trying to tackle Tyler and give her 2 shots) and raised his feet above his head. He could hardly muster the words, "Mom, I don't feel good" as his eyes started to roll to the back of his head. Poor guy... you could tell he had no idea what was going on. We had to wait a good 20 min. or so before letting his sit up and make sure he could walk.
When he came home from preschool, he told me that he had to tell all of his friends that while on the playground, his legs weren't able to work like theirs did.. but not to worry, b/c by tomorrow they'd be back to normal! LOL

Speaking of 'seeing stars'... Tyler had another meet last weekend. The judges gave her horrible scores on beam, so she didn't place (even her coaches said it was unfair) But she did score in Bars, Floor and Vault... and still recieved an all-around even though she didn't place in Beam.

Her gym took home 1st place again this weekend..

and so...

We've had another crazy week in NC where it's Winter and Spring in the same week. Snowed Sunday night.. stayed below freezing for 2 days.. and the forecast for the weekend is 79'!! Crazy.

Even with it warming slightly the past few days.. the snowman that Tyler actually managed to build (with the under 3" of snow we got) is still there. Looks kinda like a cotton ball with a mangled scarf on it now.

It was fun while it lasted. Now I am SO ready for Spring.

Amy and I (Tyler and Nathan too.. sort-of) tackled the playroom and I am happy to announce that it's empty.. with the exception of the hideous desk that needs to be sold and a bookcase. I was so ready to get this project done, completely forgot to take a before/after pic. However.. I can tell you that over 9 trash bags were filled WITH TRASH! And about 4-5 more and a whole dinning room table piled with games, puzzles, dollhouses, you name it all for donation.
Well, I may take one more look through it to see if some stuff is worth saving for the new baby. But the reality is my kids have WAY too many toys.

Tyler has completely outgrown "playing with toys" and Nathan's only interest currently is Lego's. Used to be his trains.. but he hasn't played with them in a long time.

Now I just need to settle on a paint color (Amy has been so kind to offer her help again to get the room painted!!) and set it up!
Will be excited once it all gets done!

Rambles...

Updating on some (better quality photos.. since the Sony is now fixed and I don't have to use my little Cool pix for stuff like this) shots from Tyler's last meet. She's doing fabulous.. brought home 5 medals. Placed in all 4 events, and got an all-around.

Her gym even won 1st place at the meet, as a team. :)

So I know I've said it before.. but this weekend.. (I will even take that disgusting before picture to prove it) I am actually going to tackle the playroom!!! Why now you ask?

Well, first because I've come to realize if I don't do it now.. I will soon not be able to bend over or sit on the floor which would make it very difficult to accomplish cleaning out the room. Also.. must get the huge desk (used as Tyler's craft catch all, which does not get used) cleaned out and put up on Craig's list.

Second.. my most wonderful, absolutely precious (and I must say quite brave or maybe just plain crazy for volunteering) sis-in-law has agreed to come over and dive head first into this room that we very well may never make it out of!! Totally need the motivation of someone else.. even if she just sits there and holds the trash bag open.. I need the support to clean this room out!!

And of course, the most important reason... there is NO stopping this baby from coming, and although I've tried.. you can't stop time either. So it must be done! Plain and simple!

Not to mention it's going to be raining all day (another good excuse to sit in a trash/toy filled room and stare at stuff for hours wondering what to do with it!) And we're having a non-birthday birthday party for someone who's not really having a birthday! In fact it's not her birthday at all. :)

Added some pics to my scrapbooking blog.. don't get too excited. Not much to look at. (simply ran out of time to post pics) plus.. as you will see when you get there.. most are my "incompete" projects! LOL I know.. lame. But it's still sharing!

Only Tuesday?

Boy this week seems to be going slow already.. was thinking is should at least be Thursday by now! LOL

Never did take a pic of the playroom.. Saturday we were busy with Tyler's second competition, she had a friend come along and stay over afterwards. She placed in all 4 rounds and got an all-around! So 5 more medals to hang on her wall. She is so super excited and we are all VERY proud of her! She's been learning lots on her own too.. (b/c she treats our living room like a mini-gym center) She's mastered her back walk-over and can do 2 in a row really fast. This will ultimately help her finally peg her round-off back handspring.

She's decided to forgo soccer and concentrate more on gymnastics. Competition has really gotten her pumped up and eager to work harder at learning more.

Sunday was terribly lazy in a great, wonderful way! I was going to tackle the playroom.. had good intentions, but walking upstairs and opening up the door that is forever closed (so the growing mess doesn't spill down the stairs into the rest of the house!!) was enough to deter me from that adventure! Clearly sitting on the couch watching Jared and Tyler play Lego Indian Jones for hours on end was much more desirable! :)
