"Ida" like it to STOP raining now!!!

Ha... brilliant huh?

So... tropical storm Ida turned depression is depressing me! Rain, Rain GO AWAY!! Started up yesterday... not leaving til' Friday, grrrr!

Not much going on, obviously with all this crap falling I don't want to go anywhere or do anything!! With that being said... I DID manage to get out of the house some yesterday with Miss Amy! We went to the mall and found ourselves sucked into the little kitty/dog shelter they have there. (not good) Played with little kitties and BIG fat kitties, one of which was SO cute... if he hadn't been claimed, I would have been driving home with a FAT CAT! :)

Well, the kids have been bugging for a long time to get indoor cats. As you would know... we still have Mr. Big Kitty and Ms. Samantha... but they are now outside ONLY cats! Samantha is too prissy to use the indoor potty... and so OUT YOU GO! Big Kitty gorges himself on food and barfs it right back up...and so OUT YOU GO! I love cats... but one thing I refuse to live with is cat pee in my plants and/or on the floor... as well as having to clean up piles of barf! Ick!

They are also now very old... Sammie is almost 14 and Big Kitty is going on 16! (hard to believe... makes me feel old, I still remember the day Jared and I came home with Big Kitty and his brother, so very long ago!)

So... back to the kiddos bugging me...
Nathan wants a cat of his very own that can sleep in the bed with him. Tyler has a friend she has sleepovers with that has 3 indoor cats and now wants one to sleep with her! And so what's on this years Christmas wish list???... KITTENS!
And lets face it... I'm the real sucker for new kitties, so my answer will always be yes! But it's my husband who needs the extra push of encouragement! He wants to know if the kitties come with an apartment... b/c that's where he swears he'll be if we get kittens! LOL But we all know... that underneath all that BS garbage talk he throws out... is a man that's just as big of a sucker for kitties as me! (he just refuses to admit it!)

I have 5 minutes to myself...

So I figured I'd check in with the outside world to say Hi!!!

Desperately need to upload some new photos, but I do have a couple to share...This was walking the Tobacco Trail the other day... beautiful fall days! Love walking the trails, crunching through the fallen leaves... the cool air, the smells... so happy it's fall! :)

Going to try and catch Miss Chelsea laughing on video so I can upload one to share... she just started giggling really good and she sounds like a donkey... it's HYSTERICAL! Can't believe she'll be 6 months at Xmas... time is flying by yet again!

Tyler is getting all ready for a new competition season with gymnastics! We are so super proud of her... she's landed her round-off back handspring and her routines this year are going to be much more difficult! Can't wait to start up the meet season! :)

Speaking of being proud...Miss Alyssa is performing in the Xmas parade this year, representing the middle school AND the high school band! GO LISS!

Getting super excited about Thanksgiving... all that yum-o food!! And the pies.. and FOOTBALL! Sweet!

Also way excited that the Eggnog Latte is back... another addiction of mine! Funny thing is I HATE Eggnog... but for some bizarre reason the Latte is actually good! :)

Nathan went to his trial soccer class this morning... Aunt Amy tagged along. (the directions/map was a joke... and we passed it, looped back around and still couldn't find it.. so 20 minutes later and half the class over, we finally made it! Duh!) So tomorrow he gets another free trial and so he'll benefit from a full class! Kind of weird doing the indoor soccer... but it works for the fall and winter until we can get his signed up for spring lessons and start doing games! :)

I'll work on getting those pics downloaded and share more later!

The ground is shaking!

No... the sky isn't falling... I'm not pulling a 'Chicken Little' moment here. The ground is literally shaking, vibrating the chair that I'm sitting in... at least at my house. They are repaving my street today (a whole 3 and a half weeks behind schedule!) and literally every time they fire up the roller, the ground starts to shake!

So this is the end to a very monumental week! I told you that I would update on the reality of it all, you know... as it unfolds. And so this is it.

I've discovered that preschool is over-rated!
I've discovered that Nathan is capable of playing the Xbox for hours, even days on end until you pry his little fingers from the controller.
I've discovered that nursing Chelsea makes me lazy... simply b/c it's too easy to wake up in the morning, feed her in bed... then play with her while she's all giggles and smiles until she becomes tired again. So I snuggle her all up in bed beside me. Now I could use this opportunity to get up, shower and start my day with breakfast like normal folk (tee hee), but who could deny this precious little face a morning nap partner!No giant leaps for man kind... no major accomplishments, and I am completely OK with it!

Yeah... that was it. Just thought I'd get everyone excited for a "big" post. Seeing as how I have 2 of my 3 children sleeping and the other completely consumed by PGR4! (Used 360 game won on ebay for $4... gotta love that!) I figured I would take the time to blog!

So, due for a little updating... Let's see what I can muster up. Obviously LOTS of things have been going on around here in the last months (almost 4) since Chelsea has been born. Which... I have to say that I am very proud of Sheila for taking a "me" day... I know you need that! And not to worry, I won't let it be a year before you get to see this little monkey! She's just WAY TOO cute, WAY TOO fun and growing WAY TOO fast for us not to get together soon (plus WE need to see each other! LOL)

So Tyler is wrapping up her 3 week break from school and come Monday I will be down 1 kid... at least during the day. So Nathan and I have lots of things to do. I am planning on implementing some preschool time into our day (I know they say Noggin is like preschool on TV... but only in a fairytale world would our children actually learn from watching television!) With that being said, I'm taking this "new role" very seriously and have decided that I'm going to transform the living room (get rid of all the toys that are currently invading it and put them in Nathan's room where they truly belong..) and turn it into a learning center.
Gonna try and pull out some of creativity and give each week a new theme to work around... doing such activities as art projects, reading, writing and maybe some surprises to throw in the mix!

Having 3 kids... an extremely INSANE schedule and not enough time in the day, I figured it's time for some new changes, some new rules and a positive attitude for EVERYONE! (I'll let you the reality of all of this as it actually unfolds!)

So... just a couple (completely random) things...

I've learned that Silly String is like a can of life-saving foam that will automatically transform the moods of 2 totally bored and angry children... even though it only last maybe 5 minutes!(I have 2 more emergency cans on back-up!!)

Front yard picnics in the fall are fabulous. Note to self: buy an extra kids meal for Sammie so I can actually eat MY OWN MEAL! LOL

Lil' miss Chelsea is learning to grab her feet... she loves looking at herself in the mirror and she squeals SO loud with delight on a daily basis I have a permanent smile. Have a mentioned I LOVE this little girl!

Nathan turned 5 Super Hero style! (thanks to Aunt Amy for face painting again at yet another bday party! You rock!) Note to self: Six 5 yr olds really is more than I can handle!
