When I grow up...

We've been very busy with after school activities, and the kids seem to be getting to bed later and later... which results in us waking later and later. So, since Tyler is the one whom has to be to school "on time"... I've been taking her first and then getting Nathan to preschool. This makes for a longer and very interesting car ride... the conversations are priceless!

This morning I had the pleasure of overhearing one between Tyler and Nathan...

Nathan: "Where's Oliver and Alfie?" scrambling around his car seat in search... panic setting in..."Tyler, I can't find my trains!!"

realizing they are on the floor..

Tyler: "I can't reach them"

Nathan: "you need to unbuckle then" squinting eyebrows very meanly

Tyler: "I can't unbuckle Nathan, we're driving!"

Nathan: "when Mom stops at a red light, you need to unbuckle and get my trains!" said as demanding as a 4 year old can sound!

Tyler: silence... very mean stare

Stopped at red light

Tyler: "okay, I'll get them THIS time"

Nathan: "Thank you Tyler... I love you!" said very sincere

Tyler: "I love you too Nathan"

Nathan: "I need Toad"

Tyler: "Who's Toad?"

Nathan: "He's Oliver's freight car... I need him" meaning someone needs to buy him!

Tyler looks at me in disbelief.

Mom: "yes, there is a train called Toad"

Nathan: "when I grow up, I'm going to have a BIIIIIIG pee-pee and drink coffee, just like Dad!"

Who knew a 4 year old had such admiral goals in life!

The 'noncupcake' Cup Cake!

What's that? You didn't know there was such a thing as a "noncupcake" Cup Cake?? Well folks, according to the parents of the children in my daughters classroom... you just have to follow some simple instructions and Wah La... you have a "noncupcake" Cup Cake!

Now... this might get tricky, so try to pay close attention as I list the "nons" in the "noncupcake" Cup Cake!

First it must be NON chocolate, not too hard... there are other options out there.

Then it must be NON dye frosting... vanilla should be dye free, okay I'm with ya.

Now here comes the crucial "non" ingredients...

It must contain NO high fructose syrup, NO artificial sugars, NO artificial flavors or NO artificial preservatives.

Sheeew! Okay, I think that's it.

So off to Michael's I go to make my Styrofoam cupcake with tissue paper frosting. Cause honest to god, I would never be able to bake such a thing.

In some states I think it might actually be a crime... a NON sugar, NON flavor cupcake... what is wrong with these people????

Hip Hip Hooray!

So what's all the excitement about you wonder...

Nothing!

LOL.. seriously! Just is a good mood today, that's all!

I'm so ready for fall.. I want to drive through the fallen crunchy leaves, wear jeans and sweaters, smell the crisp cool air.. the air always smells like fall... I want to pick pumpkins, decorate the house.. burn spice candles! I'm ready!!!

Really, really hoping that NC actually has a decent fall/winter season ahead. It's been pretty mild around here for our past few winters, no snow... at all! Very disappointing! I think we're due for something to go down, but we'll have to wait and see.

We finally went out and got our new TV since our big screen kicked the bucket! A 52" Philips LCD/HD. It's the most clear TV I have ever seen... watching movies is really weird, b/c the people look almost 3D, like they are right there... hard to get used to, but neat.

We also got a new TV Stand from Sam's.

So nice having the drawers for all the VHS/DVDS and remote controls for the Xbox, etc. Looks so much better! I'm on a mission to de-toy my living room as it is... Xmas is coming and I always get this overwhelming urge to de-clutter everything before bringing in even more stuff! I'm going to have to convince Nathan to keep most of his trains upstairs on his train table (where they should be)... but the kids don't like playing upstairs, b/c they feel left out, as we are always downstairs. Valid point, but the living room is a permanent train station, with no room for people! Need to reorganize! :)

Going to meet Sheila for lunch today at Panera Bread... one of my new favorite places to eat. Turkey Bravo sandwich with Summer Corn Chowder... YUM!!!

And so...

CALLER NUMBER 105!
That's right.... Heather finally did it... her wish came true! And we were off to the Red Room to see John Mayer live, acoustic... not even 3-4 feet in front of us! They opened the doors at 4pm, we were there by 1:15... to stand in line...ended up being the 3rd and 4th people in line to get in so we were able to sit on the front row couch! It was an amazing show!

Had such a super fun time with my sister...she was SO excited to be there! We meet some great people and had a memorable time!
No flash allowed... but I still got some OK pics! At the end of the evening... thinking we were heading home after the 4 song show... I happened to get lucky and score some reserved seats for the pavilion! (THANK YOU cocktail carly! Shhhh!) His opening band was One Republic... they were absolutely awesome live... followed by John Mayer, who was even better! BEST CONCERT... hands down!

So... other than that, I've been busy, busy, busy! My Mom just adopted two 5 week old kittens! Ms. Lily Pad and Ms. Daisy Duke....My goodness they are the cutest, sweetest things I have ever seen! Both black tabbies...sisters... simply adorable! Too fun to watch and play with. A lady at her work found them at the Durham Bulls ball park and was bottle feeding them! I'll upload pics later...

Did NOTHING for the Labor Day weekend, which was great! Nathan's been sick... Tyler started soccer... have been trying to finish up some scrapbooking projects. I have (I counted them the other day) 5 mini albums needing to be finished laying on my desk! And that's not including the other 3 (Halloween Party, Ski Trip and Xmas) that I finished but never journaled in. So... trying to clear my desk. Holidays are right around the corner again... and I PLAN (being the key word there) on making some goodies to give out for Xmas this year... but must start with a cleared desk.

Things in my world are usually crazy, hectic, insane...at times overwhelming, frustrating...stressful...and can make simple things turn into big things when they shouldn't. Bottom line, everyone needs a really good friend... and today, everyday... I'm thankful for having this one! Luv ya girl!

Caller 103!

So my sister is a John Mayer FREAK! And the radio station is giving away tickets to a private "listener lounge" event hosting 150 lucky souls! I have to admit even I (not being the John Mayer Freak) would like to go... acoustic guitar, small setting... good music. Well, I'm not a lucky person by nature... the last thing I have won was a pack of stickers at a scrapbooking convention 3 years ago and prior to that it was a life size stuffed animal bunny for an Easter coloring contest at Kerr Drugs when I was 7! I don't WIN things!

But today, I was in the car driving back into the office from lunch and decided to call in when prompted! You had to be caller 105. So I called... and called.... send, end, send, end on my cell phone.. many, many times! Finally, ringing... "your caller number 91" the voice said.

"@!$%" I said.

Send....end.....send...end... again. And again... "your called number 1.... 0..... THREE!" the voice said.

"#%*@ ...#&$% ....!#*@" I said.

Immediately called my sister... she was caller 104!!!

Someone please tell me the odds!!!!!!!! So that was my excitement for a Monday! A couple more hours to go til the next call in... and then 3 times a day for the rest of the week.... wish us luck!

Besides that...

Weekend was good. Saturday we had dinner with Aaron and Amy... some rita's, gourmet burgers...followed by some watermelon (have been craving some w a t e r m e l o n!) Sunday went to visit my sister in VA.. had a great time.

Tomorrow Sheila and I go to our scrap class to complete an acrylic album, very excited about that!

Have been keeping up on the Olympics... Phelps is simply amazing... and we've been routing for the US Gymnastics Girls... Liukin and Johnson!
